Bela Bartok의 "For children"에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문의 연구 목적은 20세기의 헝가리 작곡가인 Be´la Barto´k (1881-1945)의 「For Children」의 이론적 분석을 통해 학습자가 과거의 음악과는 다른 20세기의 음악의 특성에 익숙해 질 수 있는 교수 방안을 제시하려는 데 있다. Barto´k은 피아노 교육용 작품을 많이 작곡하였으며 특히 초보자를 위해 테크닉은 단순화 시키면서, 작곡 기법은 생략된 것이 없는 작품을 많이 작곡 하였다. 이러한 교육용 작품중의 하나인 「For Children」은 초보자를 위한 것으로 민요에 의한 간단한 선율, 독특한 리듬, 복잡하지 않은 화성을 이용하여 길이가 짧게 작곡되었다. 또한 Barto´k의 다른 작품에서 볼 수 있는 특징적인 작곡기법과 20세기 작곡기법이 포함되어 있으므로 20세기 음악의 훌륭한 입문서가 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Barto´k 작곡기법의 특징과 「For Children」의 작곡 배경, 교육적 가치를 발견 하기 위하여 관제 문헌들과 전문 음악잡지를 통해 조사 하였으며 「For Children Ⅰ, Ⅱ」에서 20세기의 작곡 기법과 Barto´k의 작곡 특징이 잘 드러나는 곡들을 9곡 발췌하여 이론적 분석을 한 뒤, 학습자가 올바른 해석으로 이해하고 연주 할 수 있으며 음악성 향상을 부여할 수 있는 효과적인 교수 방안을 초견, 테크닉, 음악적 해석, 연주, 즉흥연주 등의 내용을 통해 제시하였다. 「For Ctildren Ⅰ, Ⅱ」의 교육적 가치는 다음과 같다. 1. 이 곡집에서 사용한 불협화음, 선법, 오음음계를 통하여 장조, 단조에 익숙해 있는 학습자에게 현대 음악 이해의 기초를 부여할 수 있으며 다양한 20세기 피아노 음악의 기법을 배울 수 있다. 2. 민요를 사용한 선율이 한번 혹은 두번 되풀이 되어 곡에 그 대로 사용되어 학습자에게 흥미를 더할 수 있다. 3. 테크닉이 쉬운 곡이 많으며 곡의 길이가 짧아 초보자에게 적합하다. 4. Cannon, 모방, 전위 등의 대위법적인 기법을 통하여 전통적인 음악에 대한 이해를 도모할 수 있다. 이러한 교육적 가치를 지닌 「For Children Ⅰ, Ⅱ」에 수록된 곡의 분석과 연주를 통해 학습자는 분석적 기술과 음악적 지식을 얻게 되며 20세기 음악을 이해하고 분석하는 능력을 발전시키게 될 것이다.;The purpose of the study is to provide the effective instructional procedures to teach 'For Children Vol. I, Ⅱ written by Be´lla Barto´k (1881-1945). Bartok Composed many piano pieces for teaching purpose. Especially, 'for Children' was composed for elementary piano students and employs simple folk tunes as basic materials. In addition, this, as an excellent introduction to twentieth century music, shows the compositional features that characterize bartok's works and various twentieth century compositioal techniques. Therefore, 'For Children' was composed with the specific intent of helping piano students understand and become acquainted with twentieth century music. Various literature and articles from the professional periodicals were reviewed to reveal Bartok's compositional features and the pedagogical values of 'For Children Vol. I, Ⅱ.' After selecting pieces displaying twentieth century compositional characteristics among seventy-nine pieces included in 'For Children Vol. I, Ⅱ', each piece was then analyzed in much detail and examined from structural, harmonic, and aural points of view. some helpful teaching suggestions for sight reading, performance, interpretation, technique, and improvisation were studied. The following pedagogical values are found in 'For Children'. A. Dissonance, modal scale, modal harmony, and pentationic scale used in this work would forestall exclusive reliance upon major and minor modes, which seriously hampers understanding of twentieth century music. B. The melodies based on folksong will stimulate the student's interest. C. The specific compositional element of traditional music such as contrapuntal texture, canon, imitation, phrasing, and form can be also learned by studying this compostion. With analytical skills and musical knowledge gained through the analysis and performance of this composition, the student will develope the ability to interprete and analyze twentieth century music.
