발염과 호염을 이용한 세포의 조형적 표현

Abstract

미술이란 언어로서 규정지을 수 없는 인간의 심상(心象)을 여러가지 조형적 요소와 방법으로 표현하는 것을 말한다. 표현의욕은 작가의 개성에 따라 여러가지 양식으로 표현되고 있다. 이와같은 표현활동의 대상은 주로 자연적인 것이었으나, 최근 혁신적인 과학기술의 발달은 새로운 미적 학습(美的 學習)의 기회를 부여해 주었으며 그 결과 육안(肉眼)으로 볼 수 없는 미세한 생명체의 구조까지도 조형활동의 소재로 다루는 시대가 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 자연의 일부이자 생명의 근원인 세포조직에서 조형적 요소를 추출(抽出)하여 염색작품으로 표현 가능성을 모색(摸索)하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적하에 이론적 배경으로서 조형예술의 본질과 세포의 조형적 표현에 관해 고찰하고 이를 바탕으로 작품을 제작, 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 조형예술에 있어 자연에 의미를 부여하고 추구하려는 인간의 의지는 예술가의 내적 의도에 따른 표현대상의 변형으로 나타나며 감각능력(感覺能力) 확대와 함께 이러한 양상이 더욱 촉진된다. 둘째, 고도로 발달된 현대 과학기술 특히 광학(光學)의 발전은 우리에게 새로운 미적 학습의 기회를 부여하였으며, 이는 표현대상의 범위를 넓혔을 뿐만 아니라 우리의 조형의식에도 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 세포는 생명의 원초적 형상(原初的 形象)을 그대로 담고 있으며, 끊임없이 변화하고 분열증식 (分裂增殖)하는 과정속에 조형적 표현대상으로서 무한한 가능성을 내포하고 있다. 넷째, 발염 (拔染), 호염 (糊染)등의 기법은 세포의 복잡 미묘한 구조를 표현하는데 적합하였을 뿐만 아니라,그 자체로 방염(防染)의 효과를 주어 보다 효율적이고 자유로운 표현방법이었다. 그러나 약품의 사용에 따라 색상의 변화가 심하여 작품 제작시 실험에 의한 사전 지식과 정보가 요구된다. 이는 본 연구자로 하여금 계속하여 염색기법의 다양성을 연구하며 창의적인 작품 연구에 주력하고져 하는 동기를 부여하여 주었다.;The Plastical art is to express human mantal image, that cannot be formulated by language, with various plastical factor and method. In accordance with the personality of artists, the impulse of expression coming out into various aspects. Most of objects of it was nature. Nowadays, the development of scientific technology provides a new opportunity for study an esthetic sense. Then we can treat the tissue of fine organism that invisible through naked eyes for material of plastical practice. Thus, the author takes it for the purpose of this study to grope the potentiality to express by dyeing through deriving plastical element from tissue of cell which origin of life and part of nature itself. On the basis of the theoristical backgrounds viewed in the matter of essential of plastical art and plastical expression of cell, the author arrived the conclusions as below, First, in plastical art, the will to put the meaning to nature and to pursue the meaning of nature turned to the variation of object in accordance with the mental aim of each artist. And this aspect is promoted as the sensibility grow up. Second, the high development of the scientific technology, especially in optical technology, provides opportunity for study an esthetic sense, and consequently, it not only extends an extent of the object of expression, but also affects our own plastical consciousness positively. Third, as the cell has the original shape of life, and the disorganization of it implies the infinite possibility of the object of expression, it is thought to be proper material. Fourth, the techniques of paste and discharge dyeing reduces the step of the repetive process of protective dying, and it makes possible that we can express, more effectively and freely, the tissue of cell which is very complex and delicate. But because, according to use chemicals, the variation of color is sensitive, it requires many prior experimental knowledge and information. Therefore, in the works to afterwards, the experimental analysis should be tried continuously and do trial and errors to back up the problem. From now on I will concentrate my efforts on research for the variable dyeing skill, and devote myself to carry out the creative work with dye stuffs.
