한글모티프를 활용한 패브릭타일 디자인 연구

Abstract

아름다움을 향한 끊임없는 인간의 욕망은 환경이라는 공간개념으로 확장되었다. 따라서 인간은 거주공간을 단순히 영역을 구분짓는 기능적 요소가 아닌, 미적 공간으로서 승화시키게 되었다. 이러한 움직임은 실내 디자인에서 가장 중요하게 여겨지는 요소 중 하나인 벽면에 두드러지게 나타났으며. 벽면장식은 현대인에게 예술적 감각을 체험하며 자신의 개성을 표현하는 수단으로서 각광 받고 있다. 그 중에서도 특히 아트월을 이용한 벽면장식은 주거문화의 고급화와 다양한 소재개발로 인해서 주요 트렌드로 자리잡고 있다. 그러나 전문가의 손길을 필요로 하는 까다로운 시공방법과 이에 따른 고비용의 부담 때문에, 아트월을 이용한 벽면장식은 소비자에게 불편함을 초래하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구의 목적은 누구나 손쉽게 자신의 주거공간을 장식하고 취향의 변화에 따라 마치 옷을 갈아입듯 수시로 교체 가능한 새로운 개념의 벽면장식 제품으로서의 패브릭타일을 개발하는데 있다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 방법으로 진행되었다. 첫째, 벽면장식으로서의 아트월의 특성과 아트월장식이 실내 공간에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 아트월의 소재에 따른 사용 현황 및 디자인 유형을 조사하였다. 둘째, 패브릭타일의 모티프로 한글서체를 응용하였다. 이를 위하여 여러 문헌자료를 통해 한글의 특성과 문화상품으로서의 가치를 연구하였다. 셋째, 기존 아트월 제품의 단점을 보완한 패브릭타일을 개발하고자, 기존 아트월 제품의 장단점을 분석하고, 모듈방식의 패브릭 타일을 개발 하였다. 이러한 연구과정을 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 생산자가 아닌 소비자의 입장에서 연구하고 개발하였기에 비용절감과 간편한 시공이라는 소비자의 편의성을 최대한 고려 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 패브릭 타일의 시공방법을 기존의 영구 부착 방식에서 탈착 가능한 접착식으로 개선함으로서 전문시공자 없이도 소비자 스스로 벽면장식이 가능할 수 있게 되었다. 셋째, 모듈방식으로 제작하여 벽면의 크기에 상관없이 자유자재로 능동적이며 개성있는 연출을 가능케 했다. 넷째, 충격흡수와 방음기능이 있는 충전재를 사용함으로써 장식성에 기능성을 더하여 제품의 실용성을 극대화 하였다. 다섯째, 한글서체를 모티프로 활용한 텍스타일 디자인을 통해 벽면장식용품으로서 뿐만 아니라 문화상품으로서의 가치를 지니게 하였다. 이상의 결과를 통해 일부 소비층에 한정되어 왔던 아트월 장식을 패브릭 타일을 통해 대중화시킴으로서 패브릭 제품의 영역확장에 기여하고자 하였다.;The endless desire for beauty has led people to become more aware of spaces defined as environments. No longer do we conceive of our living space from just a functional standpoint that merely serves to divide our living area. Instead, we now want to recreate the concept of space into an aesthetic one. In the field of interior design, wall decorations are viewed as the most integral elements of interior design. This type of interior design is highlighted among modern people not only as a means of improving their emotional security but also as a means of gaining artistic experience and revealing their individuality. Art wall, which is largely used to give an accent to interior design, is utilized in this field; and, the type of wall decoration that employs art wall has become recently a part of the pervasive trend in interior design, which is indebted to the pursuit of quality living environment and an appearance of diverse types of materials. However, this type of wall decoration is both difficult and onerous due to the need for specialists and its high costs. As a result, it is not easy for this kind of art to keep up with fast-changing fashions and consumer tastes. The purpose of this study is to develop fabric tiles, which are not only more universal and accessible but also capable of replacing art-wall products that are costly and more difficult to apply and remove when necessary. This attempt aims to provide consumers with a more convenient, aesthetic, and economic product for decorating: both applicable and removable according to their changing tastes. After the literature of wall decoration was reviewed, its characteristics and influence on interior spaces and art wall was defined. Since the definition of wall decoration, an examination of how wall decorations were actually utilized and what types of relevant designs exist were investigated. Second, the features of the Korean alphabet and its value as a cultural product are analyzed; and, in addition, textile design cases that applied typography are examined. Third, unit-design fabric was created to compensate for the demerits of existing art-wall products and to further facilitate the universalization of interior design. Fourth, Hangeul typography motives that took advantage of the unique features of the Korean alphabets were developed as textile design motif to suit contemporary fabric tiles in order to represent the scientific excellency and beauty of Hangeul.
