프란시스 피카비아의 회화를 응용한 넥타이 디자인

Abstract

The popularity of men who are sensitive in fashion increases since modern men become interested in fashion as much as women, and their interests in appearance and fashion are gradually getting higher as they begin to accept women's clothes, hair style and accessories as their fashion codes. The Korean men in androcentric and patriarchal family structure have tided themselves with the extreme masculinity and standardized social norm so far. However, since the modern is converting to the society concerning about creativity, artistry and individual character, and men positively overcoming the traditional restrictions explode their feelings and desires through fashion. The necktie for men became the certain means to individualize the monotonous suit and express manners or emotions. However, the traditional neckties have not fulfilled the modern men's consuming desires due to the limits of colors, patterns, and images. Accordingly, matching with the current trends of emphasizing the men's interests and artistry about fashionable designs, this study aims to develop a product of a painting work as a part of the art of which create a higher value by properly harmonized originality with artistry applied formativeness of Francis Picabia's machine aesthetics. Jacquard, basically, has been adapted to produce neckties, and both yarn dying and knitting fabric have applied to produce the goods. For the purpose, the study procedures have followed by the next. The first, this study represents the possibility of creative and artistic design by applying formative elements of paintings to textile design. The second, this study re-construes and patterns motifs as textile design by studying and analyzing the essence of Francis Picabia's works systematically through documents. The third, this study represents the possibility of various variations through yarn dying and knitting methods based on the re-construed Francis Picabia's motifs and colors as necktie designs. The forth, all over and stripe patterns was designed on the necktie fabric. The fabrics was considered in functional, aesthetic and manufacturing aspects by using silk for yarn dying and blend of acrylic and wool for knitting. With the study process, the following results reached. The first, an introduction of painting works to design provides important elements for creating the modernist preferring artistry and originality added designs. The second, by analyzing and patterning after Francis Picabia's machine aesthetic motifs, this study discovers unlimited possibilities of developing higher value-added product designs. The third, this study indicates that using jacquard and knitting fabric is an adequate texture expression for preference of knitting products and luxury image of distinguished phenomenon of current fashion trends. The forth, the expression method maximizing the visual effect by giving texture to fabric shows possibility as new and original design for necktie.;패션분야를 중심으로 점차 자리를 잡아가고 있는 이른바 ‘메트로섹슈얼’ 현상은 획일화된 사회체제 속에서 개성을 중시하는 사회로의 전환을 야기하게 되었다. 그 속에서 남성들도 과도하게 집착하는 남성성을 버리고 자유롭게 자신의 감정과 욕구를 마음껏 분출해 내면서 외모와 패션에 대한 관심이 점차 높아지고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 남성들의 패션에서 자신의 개성을 자연스럽게 표현하는 중요한 수단이 되는 것이 넥타이다. 예전에 거추장스러운 소품으로 인식되어 온 틀에서 벗어나 이제는 젊은층을 중심으로 자신을 표현하는 최고의 패션 아이템으로 자리 매김하게 된 것이다. 본 연구자는 이러한 현대 사회의 미의식의 변화에 따라 소비자들의 욕구도 다양하게 변화해가고 있으며 디자인 면에서도 독창적이며 예술성이 가미된 제품을 선호하게 되었다. 이러한 남성 소비자들의 추세에 맞추어 기존의 넥타이의 색상과 패턴, 이미지에서 차별화된 모티브의 개발과 함께 일정한 소재에서 벗어나 독창적이고 예술성이 가미된 넥타이 디자인을 통해 고부가가치를 창출 할 수 있는 제품을 개발하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 자카드 제직과 니트 제직을 통한 다양한 질감표현을 시도하였다. 그리고 프란시스 피카비아의 회화작품과의 접목을 통해 새로운 조형요소들을 발견하고 응용하여 독창성과 예술성을 조화시켜 고부가가치를 창출 할 수 있는 상품을 개발하고자 한다. 본 연구자는 그러한 시도로서, 다음과 같은 연구과정을 진행하였다. 첫째, 텍스타일 디자인에 회화 작품의 조형성을 도입하여 창조적이며 예술적인 디자인의 가능성을 제시하였다. 둘째, 프란시스 피카비아의 작품을 문헌을 통해 체계적으로 고찰하고 분석하여 텍스타일 디자인의 모티브로 응용하여 재해석하고 패턴화 시켜 보았다. 셋째, 넥타이디자인으로서 재해석된 프란시스 피카비아의 모티브와 색상을 토대로 하여 선염제직과 니트 제직의 방법을 통한 원단의 다양한 변형 가능성을 제시하였다. 원단의 패턴은 올 오버와 스트라이프, 원 포인트 디자인을 하였다. 소재로는 선염 제직 시 실크를, 니트 제직 시 아크릴과 울의 혼방을 사용하여 기능적인 면과 심미적인 면, 실용적인 면을 고려하였다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통하여 다음과 같은 결과에 도달하였다. 첫째, 회화작품을 디자인에 도입하는 것은 현대의 대중들이 선호하는 예술성과 독창성이 가미된 디자인을 창출하는데 중요한 요소를 제공해줌을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 프란시스 피카비아의 기계회화 모티브를 분석하여 패턴화 함으로서, 모티브 속에서 현대의 고부가 가치의 제품 디자인으로 개발될 수 있는 무한한 가능성을 발견하였다. 셋째, 자카드와 니트 디자인은 제직방법에 따라 다양한 효과를 줄 수 있어 적합한 제직방법이 가미된다면 독창적인 넥타이 디자인의 표현방법으로서 알맞은 질감 표현임을 알 수 있게 해 주었다.
