흐름 속의 정체

Abstract

많은 혼란과 가능성과 무수한 이미지의 범람 속의 현대 사회에서 작가는 자신의 정체성을 찾고 정신적 존재 이유를 갖는다는 것은 매우 중요한 일이 아닐 수 없다. 칸딘스키(Kandinsky, 1866-1940)는 “예술가의 눈은 자기 내부의 생명을 응시하고 항상 내부의 울부짖음에 귀를 기울이고 있어야 한다. 이것만이 신비한 통찰력이 표현의 길을 찾을 수 있는 유일한 방법이다.”라고 했다. 또한 기디온(Siegfried Giedion, 1893-1968)은 자신의 저서를 통해 “예술이란 근본적인 체험이다.”라고 주장했다. 이는 결국 예술이란 자기 자신 내부의 소리에 귀를 기울이고 또한 자기 자신의 일상적인 경험 속에서 의미 있는 것을 단편적으로 인식하고 끈질기게 고착시키는 것임을 알 수 있다. 본인은 작업 속에서 작가 자신의 내적 울림에 근거한 심리적 상태를 시간에 대한 상징적 이미지를 통해서 표현하고자 했다. 이는 시간에 대한 지극히 주관적인 의식적 작용으로 인해 생기는 콤플렉스(Complex)를 극복하려는 자성(自省)적인 노력 또한 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 본인이 느끼는 시간성과 그로 인한 내면의 심리적인 분위기를 자연 풍경의 피사체로 어떻게 표현하였는지를 살펴보려 한다. Ⅰ장에서는 본 작품의 이미지에 본인이 담고자한 생각을 간단히 언급하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 작품의 표현 매체인 사진의 근본적인 바탕이 되는 시간성과 공간성에 대해 알아보고, 그리고 하이데거(M. Heideggar) 의 이론을 통해 시간성으로 현존재의 존재 의미와 정신적인 의미로의 시간에 대해, 시간성이 인간 개인의 의식구조에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 한다. 그리고 본인 작품에 영향을 준 작가들의 작품은 내면 표현을 어떻게 하였는지 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 작품의 전개과정 및 존 시스템(Zone system)을 응용한 흑백필름(black-white film) 작업 방법의 분석을 통해 대형 카메라(4×5)를 사용한 풍경 사진 작업을 시각화 하고자 하였다.;It's very important to find the own identity and have the spiritual existence reason for the artist in the modern society where the various confusion is. Kandinsky(1866-1940) said "The artist should always stare the intrinsic life and listen inner crying." And Siegfried Giedion(1983-1968) suggested "The art is the fundamental experience."in his book. That means the art is to listen the inner voice in mind and to recognize and adhere the meaningful things in daily experience. I've tried to express the psychological state based on the inner sound through symbolic image and overcome the complex which is happened by subjective and conscious process about the time. Thus I've studied that the time and the inner atmosphere would be how changed to the subject in the nature. In the Chapter 1, I refer to the thought about of my work. In the chapter 2, to study the time and space which is the basic of the photo. Secondly to find the meaning of the existence by the time and to know how the time could affect the individual conscious complex through M. Heideggar's theory. And study that the artist how to express the inside by the artist's work. Finally in the chapter 3, to put the scenery photo into visual process through analyzing the working process with the wok developmental process and Zone System.
