도시와 인간의 불안한 공존

Abstract

오늘날 과거 어느 때보다도 급변하는 사회 속에서 살아가는 인간들은 부단히 노력하고 있으나 그 변화의 속도를 따라가지 못한 채 부적응의 시대를 살아가고 있다. 이러한 현실 속에서 인간은 고독감, 무력감, 공허감을 느끼게 되었고 그 결과 자신의 주체 의식의 혼돈과 정신적 위기에 처하게 되었으며 주변의 환경에 동화되지 못함으로 소외라는 내면적 위기 상황에 직면하게 된다. 또한 급격한 산업화와 그 속에 파생된 물질화는 그 물질 문명으로부터 인간을 소외 시켰으며, 사회의 개별화, 부품화로 고립된 채 소통이 부재된 사회 속에서 살아가게 되었다. 발전된 과학 문명이 가져다준 일상적 삶의 편리함과 윤택함이 발전해 가는 사회에 상반되는 피폐화된 삶의 모습이 된 것이다. 더불어 인간의 안락한 안식처가 되어야 할 도시 역시 그 본연의 기능과는 달리 인간의 무분별한 개발로 인해 환경오염과 자연 파괴, 무질서와 소비 향락으로 몸살을 앓고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 이러한 도시의 상황과 현대사회의 급격한 변화에 따른 현대인의 방황과 고독의 원인을 분석해 보고 그 해결책에 대해서 생각해 보았다. 또한 본인이 관찰한 현대인의 모습과 내면의 고독한 심리를 도시 속의 불안한 공존의 풍경을 통해 표현하고자 하였으며 같은 맥락 하에서 현대 도시의 인간 소외와 인간성 상실에 따른 현실 문제 및 도시문제를 표현하고자 하였다. 본인은 이러한 작업을 통해 현대인들에게 정신적 정화의 도구로 삼아 인간에게 필요한 감성을 일깨워 인간 스스로에 의해 파괴된 도시를 치유하고 조화로운 공존을 위한 방법을 모색하는데 도움이 되고자 한다. 다음 2장에서는 우선 급격한 도시화로 인해 생긴 혼돈과 고찰의 모습을 통해 현대 도시의 특징을 고찰해 보고 인공으로 조성된 도시의 환경 공간에 의해 파괴되고 소외되어 버린 자연에 대해 생각해 보기로 하겠다. 또 물질화되어 가는 자본주의사회와 도시 공간의 부정적인 특성 속에서 소외된 인간성에 주목하면서 인간 정신의 황폐화와 빈곤함에 대해 생각해 보고 자연으로의 회귀와 인간성의 회복을 통해 도시와 인간의 조화로운 공존의 가능성에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 제3장에서는 작품 제작에 영향을 준 도시 풍경 작가들을 분석해 보고 본인의 작품에 대해 구체적으로 설명하도록 하겠다.;Comtemporary metropolitan cities have experienced more various social changes at a faster rate than any other age since so-called modern cities appeared in the mid-nineteenth century. Changes in values also are progressed as fast as people have difficulty adjusting themselves to the changes. Under the age of unlimited speed, those who can't keep up with the speed rate of the changes get losing their position in society and make themselves isolate from present society at the end. In addition, psychological uneasiness, alienation, a sneer and a sense of solitude become so serious that it is regarded as serious social ills. Reckless industrialization and urbanization by humans also have caused side effects such as destruction of environment, loss of humanity, dissolution of family and generation gap. While human beings' life has never met their material supply due to development of machines and science than the present time since society was industrialized, humans ironically suffer spiritual poverty. On top of that, cities created for convenient and comfortable life have turned to complex and corpulent wicked ones because of destruction and construction, noise pollution and a busy crowd. Moreover, cities have became unkind and selfish places where people pursue their convenience and have destructed natural environment and at last have made distance between human beings and environment. In this study, confused situations happening in present cities and destruction of natural environment are regarded as the main cause to worsen humans' matters in society. So this study aims to present a way to recover humanity of modern people by examining the above-mentioned problems and help establish a way for people to move forward from now on by finding measures to achieve harmonious coexistence between cities and humans, between humans and nature, and between nature and cities. Another purpose of this study is to cure cities fragmented by humans and arouse desires to come back into nature by expressing dualism of splendorous nightly cities or the dark and light which are hidden behind splendorous illumination through photographs of unstable coexistence between cities and humans.
