도시 뒷골목에 투영된 현대인의 어두운 내면세계 표현 연구

Abstract

현대 사회는 속도전의 시대라 해도 과언이 아닐 만큼 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 산업혁명 이후 도시화, 산업화, 정보화 사회로 진입하면서 21세기는 급성장한 경제의 풍요로움과 과학의 발전으로 인간은 그 어느 때보다도 진보적이고 편리한 생활을 영위하게 되었다. 현대 과학산업과 기술의 변화속도는 한 세대 사이에 산업혁명과 종교혁명이 열 번쯤 일어날 수 있을 정도의 속도라고 한다. 이러한 발전속도는 기존의 어떤 흐름보다도 우위성을 보이며, 하루가 다르게 급변하고 있다. 이런 발전 속도에도 불구하고 개선되어지지 않는 병폐(病弊)가 있다면 그것은 인간의 소외 현상일 것이다. 이전 시대와는 비교도 안될 물질적 풍요 속에서 현대사회는 인간의 가치관, 윤리관, 종교관의 붕괴 등을 수반하여 자아의 정체성에 대한 회의를 초래하였다. 복잡하고 다원화되어 가는 현실 속에서 현대인은 운명적으로 소외감을 경험하고 각자의 내면세계에 대한 더 깊은 이해와 성찰을 필요로 하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 복잡하고 급 발전하는 다원화된 현대사회에서의 사회현실과 그 속에서 인간성 상실로 인해 소외되어 가고 있는 인간, 즉 우리 자신들의 어두운 내면세계에 초점을 맞추었다. 예술은 작가의 내적 세계의 표출이며 시대성의 반영으로 그것은 나로부터의 출발하며 끊임없는 인고와 자기와의 투쟁을 통해서 탄생되는 것이라고 생각한다. 즉 예술은 작가 자신의 삶에 대한 인식과 가치관 그리고 내면의 사고를 시각적으로 표현한 것이라고 할 수 있다. 본인의 내면에서 시작된 소외로 인한 갈등을 도시 뒷골목의 빛과 그림자를 통하여 사진 매체로 전개하고 있다. 이론적 연구에는 현대사회에서 사회적 현상과 이에 따른 현대인의 내면세계에 대해 살펴보았다. 이어서 현대인이 겪고 있는 내면 문제를 크게 ‘소외’의 개념으로 보고 인간소외의 경향을 살펴보았다. 그리고 앞에서 제시한 이론적 바탕으로, 본인이 작품에서 표현하고자 한 도시 뒷골목의 빛과 그림자에 주관적인 감성을 이입시켜 분석하였다. 방법적 연구에 있어서는 도시 뒷골목의 빛과 그림자의 풍경을 본인 내면세계의 반영으로써 어떻게 표현하고 있는지 살펴보고 본인의 각 작품을 제시하고 분석함으로써 각 작품의 의도와 의의를 살펴보았다. 결론으로 본 연구는 본인의 작업에 대한 이론적 기반과 예술관을 정립하고 보다 진전될 수 있는 작업 방향을 모색하고자 한다. 더 나아가 자신의 내면세계를 되돌아 봄으로써 인격적으로 성숙할 수 있는 기회를 마련하고자 하는 것에 의미를 두었다.;Modern society is so rapidly changing that it is no exaggeration to call it an era of speed war. As human society entered urbanization, industrialization, and information society following the industrial revolution, human beings in 21^(st) century have come to enjoy more advanced and convenient life than ever thanks to the rapidly growing economy and scientific development. It is said that the speed of scientific, industrial and technological change in the modern society can be compared to the one with which industrial and religious revolution can occur ten times within a generation. Such a development speed becomes increasingly faster, showing superiority to any other existing trends. But, despite the development speed, there is an ill of contemporary society that has not been improved, that is, human alienation. In the material abundance beyond comparison with the previous societies, the contemporary society has also experienced the collapse of human’s values, morality, and religion, causing doubt of its own identity. In this desolating reality, contemporary people are inevitably feeling sense of alienation, and, accordingly, need deeper understanding and reflection on their own inner world. This paper focuses on the reality of rapidly changing, complex and increasingly pluralistic society and the dark inner world of human being who is alienated by loss of humanity, that is, ourselves. It shows emotional conflicts caused by the alienation starting from my own inner world through photographic media that capture lights and shadows of urban alleys. As for theoretical study, this paper takes a careful look at the social phenomena and inner world of contemporary people. It counts the problem the modern people go through in the concept of ‘alienation’ and examines the trends of human alienation. Based on the presented theoretical study, it analyzes the lights and shadows of urban alleys with subjective feeling. As for methodological study, this paper examines how I express the scene of lights and shadows through reflection of my own inner world and analyzes intend and meaning of each work. In conclusion, this paper tries to establish my theoretical base and view of art and search for working direction for further development. Taking one step further, it intends to make an opportunity for me to mature further as a human being by looking back on my own inner world.
