http://dcollection.ewha.ac.kr/jsp/common/DcLoOrgPer.jsp?sItemId=000000038494;The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among mother s perfectionism, psychological control, children s perfectionism, depression and how mother s perfectionism and psychological controls have an effect on children s perfectionism, depression.
A total of 261 elementary school 5th and 6th grade students and their mothers in Seoul completed questionnaires. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regressions.
The results of this study were as follow:
First, for girls, mothers whose other-oriented perfectionism were high, showed success-oriented psychological control, guilt feeling generating psychological control and love withdrawal.
Second, when mothers' psychological control was high, children's socially-prescribed perfectionism was high. However, in case of self-perfectionism, different results were showed girls who had success-oriented and guilt-feeling generated psychological controlling mothers, showed higher self-perfectionism, but not for boys.
Third, When mothers had higher other-oriented perfectionism, daughters had higher self-perfectionism and socially-prescribed perfectionism. There was no significant relationship between mothers' perfectionism and boys perfectionism. Fourth, the higher mothers showed psychological control, the higher their children showed depression.
Fifth, children who had higher socially-prescribed perfectionism, showed higher depression. However, there was no significant relationship between children's self-perfectionism and depression.
Sixth, mothers' other-oriented perfectionism influenced directly and indirectly through psychological control on girls' socially-prescribed perfectionism and depression. On the other hand, mothers' other-oriented perfectionism influenced indirectly boys' socially prescribed perfectionism and depression through guilt feeling generated psychological control.
To be concluded, the results of this study evidenced that perfectionism is multi-dimensional and only children's socially-prescribed perfectionism will cause children's depression.; l 8ȲX DƽX, ¬ , DٳX DƽX, DٳX ƸX Ĭ| ܭX t\ Ĭ DٳX 1ļ 0| (t ǔ| ܭXଐ X. \ DٳX 1 0| 8ȲX DƽX@ ¬ DٳX DƽX Ƹ ƥD XΔ \ x| Xଐ X.
